PRAIA DA TERRA ESTREITA

Praia da Terra Estreita is a serene beach characterized by its narrower, less crowded expanse. Its tranquility makes it a perfect escape for those seeking peace away from the busier spots.

This beach is conveniently reached by a short boat ride from the heart of Santa Luzia, making it one of the closest and most accessible beaches to the village.

PRAIA DO BARRIL

Praia do Barril is renowned for its Anchor Cemetery, where anchors from the decommissioned tuna fishing fleet are solemnly displayed. The beach offers wide stretches of sand and a touch of historical intrigue.

There you can rent sunbeds & parasols, and enjoy a drink from the beach bar during high season. There are also 3 bars/restaurants where you can get food & drinks and some little shops in case you forgot your towel or flip flops.

Visitors can access Praia do Barril either by a charming miniature train ride or by walking across the accessible footbridge that starts from just outside Santa Luzia.

ILHA DE TAVIRA

As one of the most popular beaches in the region, Ilha de Tavira boasts excellent facilities, including restaurants and beach bars. The wide sandy beach is ideal for families and offers various activities.

PRAIA DO HOMEM NU

Starting from Barril Beach, walking about 2 km westward, you reach Homem Nu Beach, a deserted and wild beach that extends for another 3 km to Barra Nova Beach in Fuseta. Homem Nu has a section designated as an official naturist beach. It is an isolated and peaceful beach. There are no beach facilities, so visitors should bring their own water and food.

Notes: To contribute to the preservation of the site, the dune cord should be crossed using the mats and elevated walkways. The currents near the bar are usually very strong, and this beach is not supervised.

PRAIA DE CABANAS

On the eastern edge of the Ria Formosa Natural Park is the village of Cabanas, founded by fishermen from other parts of the country who settled here at the beginning of the 20th century, dedicating themselves to tuna fishing. This beach offers a beautiful setting with the Ria Formosa as a backdrop. It is popular among those who prefer a calm area for swimming and scenic boat rides. Its 7 km long sandy beach, bathed by a sea of warm and placid waters, provides tranquility to vacationers who have all the necessary infrastructures at their disposal.

Praia de Cabanas is accessible by a small boat ride across the lagoon, with departures from the waterfront in Cabanas, which is a short drive east from Santa Luzia.
